What is the difference between open and enclosed carrier in Car Shipping

Open Carrier This is by far the more common way to Moving a vehicle. Just travel down the interstate and you will see a load of cars on a trailer with open sides. Traditionally, in the Vehicle Transport world, this is more cost effective. However, since the cars are exposed to natural elements, they risk certain types of damage. Debris such as tires, sand rocks, tires, and salt (during winter seasons) can damage unprotected vehicles. The season also needs to be considered, hail, snow and sleet can also come into play during the right season and right location. The cars are secured to the trailer by connecting a chain on the frame the car. In most cases, your vehicle will arrive in the exact condition it was picked up in. To put your mind at east, many car dealerships are OK with the risk and use open Shipping to deliver their new cars.

Enclosed Carrier is the second type of Vehicle Shipping and it is precisely what it sounds like; your vehicle is protected and surrounded by a trailer. Top tier Moving carriers use "soft ties” (rather than a chain) to connect your car to the trailer. Many enclosed Car Moving companies are "white glove” carriers; they put down floor mats to protect your carpets and interior. Make sure you are educated, though, this high end service comes with a price. Enclosed Vehicle Transport may cost you 75-100% more than open transport.
